After taking in the wilderness views from Sherrard Point, a short car shuttle will allow us to walk mostly downhill from the top of Larch Mt. to first see subalpine wildflowers, and then descend along side a mountain meadow surrounded by lush western hemlock old growth forests.  Wendell Wood, ONRC and Cathy Robart, Friends of the Columbia Gorge will co-lead this interpretive, slow paced, day long hike.

First Meeting Place: 8:30 AM at Wild Oats 2825 E Burnside (accessible via TriMet bus)
Second Meeting Place: 9:45 AM at top of Larch Mt. (I-84 east to Corbett Exit 22, go up Corbett Hill Road for 2 miles to Historic Highway and continue 2 miles to the fork at Larch Mt. Road.  Take the right fork up to Larch Mt. and continue 14 miles to trailhead at the end of the road.  $5 parking fee or NW Forest Pass required.)
