Lyle Cherry Orchard

Acquisition: Donated in 2009
Location: Klickitat County, Washington
Access: Open to the public, with hiking trail on the property
The Lyle Cherry Orchard is the largest property donated to the land trust from the estate of Nancy Russell. The Cherry Orchard Trail runs through a large portion of the property. Nancy purchased the land as many separate parcels to assemble a block of land that runs from inside the urban area of Lyle eastward to high basalt cliffs that overlook the Columbia River.
Friends of the Columbia Gorge regularly holds hikes and stewardship events on the property. The Lyle Cherry Orchard is a key component of Gorge Towns to Trails, Friends' long-term vision of a comprehensive trail system linking Gorge communities.
